Description
Prague’s imaginary heart is the Old Town, and at its heart lies Old Town Square with the Cathedral of Our Lady before Týn and the Old Town Hall with the Astronomical Clock - the smart watch of its day. From here it is only a short walk to the Jewish Town, which is probably the most mysterious part of Prague. Here you’ll learn more about the Golem and the turbulent history of the Jewish community and its inhabitants.
Tour route: Old Town Square – Ungelt – Dušní St. - Vězeňská (Spanish Synagogue) - Pařížská - exteriors of the Jewish Town (Old-New Synagogue, Pinkas Synagogue, Maisel Synagogue) – Široká St. - Palach Square (Rudolfinum) - view of Prague Castle from the Mánes Bridge
Before you go on the tour:
- Duration: 2 hours
- Meeting point: Guides&Tours office in the Old Town Hall – Old Town Square 1 (Staroměstské náměstí 1)-on the ground floor of the Old Town Hall, left side behind Giftshop
- End of the road: Palach Square
- Please note: The tour includes only the walk; entrance fees to individual sites are not included. The route is suitable in any weather, as well as after dark.
